Tips and Tricks For Saving: Disney Cruise Line
/Everyone has asked and so here it is! One of the most frequent questions that Marco and I receive is: What is the best time to sail with Disney Cruise Line? What are the tips and tricks to saving money when booking a Disney Cruise?
Tip # 1: Book early. Book early. Book early. This is simply the best and most consistent way to save (and not just when you sail Disney). Your early deposit will hold your pricing and stateroom choice, allow you to have a better chance at Early Seating for dinners (a popular choice for families) and is fully refundable or movable right up until final payment. This is also the best way to book March Break, Christmas, and other holiday/high season dates at lower rates.
Tip #2: Book a shorter cruise. All vacations are not created equal. A cruise can be really magical, even for a shorter period of time. We recommend a 4 or 5 night cruise (although Disney does offer 2 and 3 night options), if you are looking to watch your budget, OR if it is your first time sailing and you want to “test the waters” so to speak.
Tip #3: Be flexible with your itinerary and port departures. We help you figure out which ports are less expensive to fly to from your destination, and we strongly suggest choosing the itinerary that fits your budget instead of being specific with your port locations if budget is high on your priority list. A Disney Cruise is magical every single time, so this is a great way to make it work for your family.
Tip #4: Book during “slow”/”off” season. Off season pricing is lower than high season, AND pricing doesn’t usually climb as fast.
Tip #5: Stay in an inside stateroom. There are plenty of opportunities to have a view when on ship. If you think your family will only be sleeping in your stateroom, and be too busy enjoying the ship, this is where you can save. The Disney Dream and Disney Fantasy have Magical Portholes with real time views of outside the ship as well!
Tip #6: If you have to book a Disney Cruise last minute, it is possible to save a little as well. It will never be the same savings as booking early, but sometimes if the cruise hasn’t sold out, you can get a lower rate. Be flexible and we can help you find a stateroom category that may have dropped in price. Flights on the other hand may be trickier.
Tip #7: Disney Cruise Line offers SO MANY free options for entertainment and relaxation on ship. Make sure to take this into account when comparing with other cruise lines! There aren’t any hidden fees. What you see is what you get, and what you get is absolutely amazing!
