It’s a scary thing. Putting a deposit down on a vacation that is months, or even a year away. There used to be a time, even a few short years ago, where you could hang on and book 3 months before your Disney vacation. In some rare cases, you still can. But more than likely, with millions of people taking a Disney Vacation yearly, you will be paying more than someone who booked earlier than that. Here’s why they do it:
When your family is thinking of a Disney Cruise Line vacation, you absolutely should book early to secure what will more than likely be the lowest rate your cruise will be priced. The earlier the better. As a matter of fact, you should be on a list for the next itinerary release, and book that same day. We have a list just like this for people who know this tip already as it is the best way to get those great rates you hear about from others!
Disney World Vacations, especially for those times of year when people are all a buzz about promotions that include: Play, Stay and Dine, and Free Dining, book as early as you can. How far? Try to secure a reservation 6-10 months before. The best way to try and obtain promotion pricing is to already have a $200 USD deposit on the room/package of your choice. There is still some work to do at promo time with changing the room over to discounted rates, but it is much easier going through the process when you have a room all set to go! Of course, if you are part of the Pure Magic Vacations family, we are doing that work for you. You get to sit back and enjoy your morning coffee while we continue to work our magic.
When looking at a Walt Disney World stay, you can secure ticket and dining rates before they change. Historically Disney has raised ticket and dining plan pricing early in the year. This gives you the option to get the a package promotion with the increased ticket and dining pricing, OR to add a room only discount to your current package. Options anyone?
Did you know that guests who visit Walt Disney World can book their dining reservations, Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique reservations, and more, at 180 days before their visit? That’s right. That means those Be Our Guest, Cinderella’s Royal Table, Ohana, and other "must have" reservations are a breeze at the 180 day mark. If dining is important to you, or you are travelling with a large party on the dining plan, early planning takes the stress right out of the process...just ask the dishes!
Room/Stateroom category: If you are looking for that favourite resort that just borders on the high end of your budget, or you are looking to book an Inside Room Category on certain Disney Cruise Line itineraries, booking early can mean you get the least expensive room category locked down before promotion time. Pop Century and Caribbean Beach Standard Views, as well as rooms at the Beach Club (what a pool!), and your other favourite deluxe resorts at special event times are all included in this category. The International Food and Wine Festival makes booking an Epcot Resort nearly impossible closer to the fall.
Whenever you decide is the right time to book a magical vacation for your family, your deposit will secure your room/stateroom until final payment. Any adjustments can be made to your pricing as long as there is availability within the discounted rooms, and if not, there will be other rooms offering a discount as well.
Have a magical day and always remember: "All our dreams can come true, if we have the courage to pursue them." -- Walt Disney
